Stranded Deep 2 Survival Guides Hub

Everything we know about staying alive on the endless river before Early Access.

Survival Guides Hub

This hub is the map for every Stranded Deep 2 how-to on the wiki. The sequel is still heading toward Steam Early Access in early 2027, so these pages teach the announced loop instead of pretending a live build exists. Use them to wishlist with a plan: what the desert-river fantasy actually is, which systems return from the original, and which questions North Beach Games has already answered.

Start with getting started if you only remember Pacific islands and a yellow raft. Then read how to survive for health, hunger, thirst, and exposure, and floating-home building for the mobile camp that replaces a static island shack.

What these guides cover

The river is the spine of the sequel. River exploration explains kayaks, rafts, rapids, hand-crafted locations, and why pushing inland from the water is supposed to pay off. Wildlife and the food chain covers crocodiles, hippos, and the living ecosystem Sam Edwards described in the New Ground blog. Cartographer 2.0 is for players who lived in the original map editor. Crafting and materials covers dynamic parts and Building 2.0 without fake recipes. Co-op tracks multiplayer as a first-class feature without inventing a player cap.

Pair the tutorials with planning tools. The wildlife threat tiers and biome priorities rank danger using official language, not fake DPS tables. System requirements exist because the PC bar is no longer a 2015 laptop. Stranded Deep 1 vs 2 is the clean comparison if you are deciding whether the sequel is “more islands” or a new fantasy.

How to read a pre-launch wiki

Treat every recipe, spawn table, and exact control prompt as unconfirmed until Early Access ships. North Beach Games has been explicit about the fantasy: an ordinary person, a hostile desert, an endless procedural river seeded with hand-crafted sites, a watch for daily survival, and a yellow kayak that inherits the old raft’s job. They have also been explicit about what is still in motion: co-op details, controller support during Early Access, Steam Deck verification as a goal, a public roadmap “soon,” and a redacted A.R.I.D. teaser on the official FAQ.

That split is useful. You can prepare hardware, community, and mindset now. You cannot yet theory-craft a meta. When a page on this hub says “expect,” it is pointing at a Steam feature list or a developer blog, not at a datamined patch.

Suggested reading order

  1. Getting started — wishlist, platforms, and the day-one loop in plain language.
  2. How to survive — the four needs plus heat and water risk.
  3. River exploration — how travel, diving, and hand-crafted sites fit together.
  4. Floating-home building — pack up, settle, or raft the next canyon.
  5. Wildlife and the threat tier list — you are not the apex.
  6. Crafting — materials per part, salvage, Building 2.0.
  7. Early Access explained — two-to-three-year window, price rise after 1.0, what “playable” means on day one.

News lives under updates, including the reveal recap and roadmap. Hardware and sequel comparisons live under tools. Bookmark official links for Steam, Discord, and the developer site so you are not chasing rumor screenshots.

The guides will grow when Early Access exists. Until then, this hub is the honest index: enough depth to stop you wasting a wishlist on the wrong sequel, and enough restraint to keep fake loot tables off the page.
