Stranded Deep 2 Steam Wishlist Guide
The only purchase path announced so far, and the alerts worth turning on.
Stranded Deep 2 is not for sale yet. The useful button is Wishlist. This page is the boring, correct version of “how do I get the game.” It exists because search traffic for a sequel always includes that sentence, and because a wishlist is not a pre-order, a key, or a console hold.
The store page is Steam app 3976770. Open it from the official links hub or from the header CTA. You need a Steam account. You do not need to pay until Early Access exists.
What a wishlist actually does
Steam emails you when the game becomes available, goes on sale, or (sometimes) when a major news post lands. It also slightly boosts visibility on Steam’s own discovery surfaces. It does not lock a price. North Beach Games has already said the price will rise after Early Access to reflect added content. A wishlist today is a reminder, not a coupon.
It also does not put the desert on your PC. Check system requirements before you treat launch week as a sure thing. Windows 11, 16 GB RAM, an 8 GB class GPU, DirectX 12, SSD. The original’s toaster era is over.
Follow the right rooms
Wishlist is one alert. Discord is the studio’s stated primary community. The developer site holds blogs. YouTube holds the trailer. Reddit is listed and is not patch notes. All of those URLs sit on official links. If a clone Discord appears, match the invite to Steam or strandeddeep2.com.
Edwards told Gamereactor that monthly blogs should pick up now that the setting is public. That is the real follow-up after you click Wishlist. The updates hub and roadmap will absorb those posts. You do not need six YouTube recaps of the same forty-three seconds.
What to read before you click
- Getting started — desert-river loop, kayak, watch.
- Early Access explained — two-to-three-year window, rough edges, price rise.
- Official FAQ notes — co-op, consoles, Cartographer, A.R.I.D.
- Stranded Deep 1 vs 2 — if you wanted more islands.
- Art style — if you care what Dave from accounting looks like.
If those pages talk you into waiting for 1.0, keep the wishlist anyway. Alerts are free. Refunds after a messy Early Access weekend are not a personality.
Platforms that are not Steam yet
No Epic storefront. No console SKU. No mobile. Family Sharing is listed on Steam for the eventual library copy; it is not two-player co-op. Co-op is a different checkbox.
Controller support and Steam Deck Verified are Early Access goals. Do not wishlist a Deck as a launch-day requirement. Do not buy a second pad as a launch-day requirement. The FAQ is explicit that those land during the work-in-progress years.
After you wishlist
You are done with commerce until a price appears. Spend the wait on hardware, Discord, and the guides hub. When Steam flips the page from Coming Soon to Early Access, this wiki will add a buy checklist. Until then, the button is Wishlist, the date is early 2027, and the river is still a trailer. If a friend forwards a fake key shop, send them this page and the official FAQ notes instead of arguing in a screenshot thread.
