Stranded Deep 2 PC Tools Hub

Hardware checks and sequel comparisons so the desert does not surprise your PC.

PC Tools Hub

Trailers do not run on a 2012 laptop. Stranded Deep 2’s Steam page already admits that. This hub is the practical corner of the wiki: can your machine launch the river, and is the sequel even the game you think it is?

Open system requirements for the official minimum list, SSD rule, DirectX 12, and the Steam Deck caveat. Open Stranded Deep 1 vs 2 if you are still picturing palm atolls and a yellow raft as the entire product. Open official FAQ notes for co-op, consoles, Cartographer, and A.R.I.D., and the wishlist guide if you only needed the Steam button. Those pages exist because pre-launch search traffic is full of “will it run,” “what changed,” and “how do I get it.”

Why tools belong next to guides

Getting started tells you to wishlist. This hub tells you whether wishlist is honest. The original Stranded Deep was famous for running on machines that should not have been allowed near a survival game. The sequel’s floor is Windows 11, 16 GB of RAM, and an RTX 2060 SUPER or RX 6600. That is a different audience. If your plan was to boot the desert on the same PC that cleared the Pacific in 2016, read the specs page twice.

Controller support and Steam Deck Verified are Early Access goals, not launch badges. We keep that distinction here so a handheld buyer does not feel lied to by a fan wiki.

How we handle numbers

Every hardware line is copied from Steam or the official FAQ. We do not invent recommended presets, FPS targets, or “low/medium/high” tables the studio has not published. When those tables exist, they will be added. Until then, treat minimum as minimum, not as 60 FPS in a hippo fight.

The comparison page is the same philosophy. Confirmed columns only: setting, studio, platforms, co-op posture, editor, Early Access length, tone. No fake weapon DPS. No invented map size in kilometres.

Use these with the rest of the wiki

After you pass the spec check, go back to how to survive and river exploration. If the comparison page talks you out of a Pacific sequel, stay for the desert anyway or wait for 1.0 via Early Access. Bookmark official links for when Steam edits the requirements blob — they will, if Deck verification or a macOS rumour ever becomes real.

This hub will grow if the studio ships a photo mode, a seed tool, or a public roadmap widget. It will not grow a fake code redeemer or a damage calculator. Those belong to live-service games this sequel is not.
